Something I read

"The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese."
I thought it was cute.

Ok, here is a math problem for you guys. I was able to figure it out very quickly, even though I am not a math buff. Are you ready?

7 girls board a bus, each girl has 7 backpacks. In each backpack there are 7 cats. Each cat has 7 kittens. How many legs are in the bus?

Pictures I found...

I found some pics of the past year that I thought were neat. Actually I'm just really bored.

My man using his new grill. He grilled for his mom's birthday a few months ago...

I made her a birthday cake. She hadn't had one in years. She was very excited.

This is us celebrating my birthday at European Street cafe.

Family dinner

So I had my family over for dinner tonight. I made chicken manicotti, it was good. I took some pics. Owen went around the kitchen opening my cabinets and shutting them. It was cute.

Here is Owen playing with the Pam spray.

Owen helped me "organize" my spices.

Owen is making music with the guys!

The guys playing. Well, Mike was playing.

Valentine's

Today was a good day. Mike and I always celebrate Valentine's Day on the 13th because the restaurants are not as crazy, lol. But we do something together on the 14th too. Yesterday we went to Maggiano's and had an awesome dinner. Today, when I got to work, my kids were hiding in my room, in the dark and when I turned the lights on they all yelled "Happy Valentine's Day". It was cute... Then in the afternoon we all had way too much sweets... The kids were on a sugar high. When we were packing up our stuff, my classroom door opened and in walked Vivian and Owen. I was so excited! My kids were excited to meet them too. Owen got a little overwhelmed and started to cry. But then he smiled and clapped. It was so cute. He got to see my bird too, but I think Lovey Dovey scared Owen. Then I came home and crashed from the sugar high. lol And my hubby came home and gave me my favorite flowers, tulips. Yes I know roses are "love" flowers. But I LOVE tulips and they are not in season for long. So I always want them when I can get them. :o) My husband is the best!

For other news, we just found out that Mike's new work schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 9-6. :o( Now we don't have weekends together. We'll still have Sundays, but Sundays are so short because of church. Now what am I supposed to do with my Saturdays?!?

Jokes from students...

My students love to tell me jokes. Here are the ones I can remember...

Why did the math book go to school??

- Because it had problems... :o)

There were 2 kids in a house that caught on fire, but they survived. How?

- Because they were in the living room.

There were 100 fish in the fish tank and 84 of them drowned. How many are left?

-all of them, fish don't drown.

Todd's mom had 3 kids. The firstborn was named "nickel", the second born was named "dime". What was the name of her third born?

-hehe, read the question and you should get this one. I am afraid, I got tricked in this one...

That's all I can remember, but I'll try to ask them for more. Of course, my favorite joke of all time is the one my old roomie told me...

There was a snail who painted the letter "s" on his car so that everytime he drove his car people would say; "look at that s-car-go"... hehehe, you gotta say it fast and it sounds like "escargot"...

hehe, I wonder who could have told me that brilliant joke!

Good and bad day

Well, today was a good day. Mike and I ran some errands and then came home. We worked on getting the house put together. I finally put laundry away. Now a new pile awaits to be washed. Then Mike put up his guitars on the wall of our office. I love it! He also put together a book shelf he bought at Target. We put it in our sun room. We are finally (after living here for 9 months) getting our sun room put together. We have it almost done. We just need to get a loveseat someone gave us. Lets see, what else did we do today... We cleaned up some other stuff. And I made pasta salad. That is an accomplishment because I did not feel like cooking. It was a productive day.

Why was it a bad day? Well, I broke a vase when I was getting something out of the closet. And the worse of all, I was putting dishes away in the cabinet above the fridge. Here I am on top of stool and I pulled something out of the cabinet and before I knew it, my blender goes crashing down and breaks into a bunch of pieces. We never really use it, but I like having one. And now it's gone! It was an expensive wedding gift, and now I'll have to replace it. :o( I had a clumsy day.

The Guitars! (he has more, but they are in the closet)

circus

Today I went on a field trip with school to the circus. There were a few things I liked, but in general, I hated it! I hated everything about it. The smell, the people, the brats sitting behind me, the noise... But most of all I hated that they have tigers, horses, ponies, camels, elephants, llamas, zebras, etc. there just to do stupid tricks. God did not make animals to provide cheap entertainment for us. They are supposed to be free, not caged up! When the dude was making the tigers do stupid tricks, I kept hoping they would attack him. lol There was 1 man and 6 tigers, come on now... Anyone can do that math!!! But alas, the tigers are subjected to doing stupid stuff and being whipped and stuffed in a cage. Same for all the other animals... I was mad! I probably will never return to the circus. It was a waste of time and money. Plus, because it was so loud, I came out of there iwth a migraine.

Oh on top of that, they played songs and got the audience to "dance" and stuff. It was like a club scene. They played a song which I absolutely abhor! It's all about sex, and there is a part of the song that says "super soak that ho"... These were children singing along and dancing to it. How awful! What is our society doing to these kids?! All the adults seemed completely ok with the fact that these children were booty dancing and singing those awful and dirty lyrics... Arrghh!

cards

I am a scrapbooker and love it! I also like making my own greeting cards to mail to people. I enjoy making it, and I think the people that get it appreciate a unique handmade card. I took some pictures of my latest creations. Now, keep in mind that I am still new at this card making business. :o)

I made this one for a very special friend and mailed it to her. I made it bright and cheery to match her personality. Can you guess who it is?!

I made this one for a baby shower I went to. I love this one! I thought about it for days before I made it.

I made this one for a lady at church that hasn't been coming because of health issues. I wanted to let her know I am thinking of her. I mailed it this week.
