new happenings...

About 2 weeks ago we were finally able to get the girls a swing set. I have been wanting one for a long time, and a friend was selling hers. The girls LOVE it! I bought a pink swing for baby sister, so now we all get to play in it :) it has everything I wanted, swings, slide, a fort, a picnic table... We've been outside everyday since getting it and it's been wonderful! Here we are all swinging :)

She loves pushing baby sister
There is also BIG news in our house. Baby sister is crawling!!! I started noticing she was ready for about a week. I kept trying to make her go to certain toys, but she couldn't figure it out. Around the 19th-20th, she finally figured it out. It is SO cute and she LOVES being on the floor to practice her new skills. Now I gotta make sure there are no small toys on the floor...

1, 2...

Everyone handles their children's births differently... After my first daughter was born, I couldn't imagine loving any other child as much as I loved her. There was just NO possible way that could ever happen. The older she got, the more I felt like even though I wanted more kids, that I'd be doing her wrong if I had more kids.. Sound stupid, but that's how I felt. I had to pray through it and after some wise friends told me that she needed a sibling I started thinking differently. After she turned 1 I started seeing more evidence that she would indeed benefit from a sibling. Hubby and I started talking about when we'd add to our family and we agreed we'd start trying summer of 1010. Big sis would be about 18-20 months old and it was "perfect" timing. When the time came, I kept postponing it. I was terrified of being a mom of 2. I didn't think I could handle it. Nonetheless, in June we started trying, but it took us 6 months (we got pregnant on the first try with big sis). The first 2 failed months I was relieved. Relieved b/c I wasn't ready, and b/c God had his own timing. As the months passed, I grew frustrated. I confess, I was getting angry b/c I wanted a baby and I started feeling like we just weren't meant to have more children. I prayed through it and accepted whatever God's will was, wether it would be to grow our family now or to wait.

December 9th, I was a week late. I had already taken 1 pregnancy test that came out negative. Hubby insisted I was pregnant, I insisted I wasn't. That Thursday morning I took a 2nd test, to prove my husband wrong. I had no symptoms of pregnancy and knew I wasn't. SO I see a plus sign on the test. I ran out of the bathroom and yelled "you were right". Very exciting! We told our daughter she'd be a big sister and have a brother or sister. She refused to call the baby a brother and from day 1 called it a baby sister. I really have no idea where she got that from b/c we always told her it could be either or. lol We waited until christmas to tell our family.

March 9th, the 3 of us went to find out the gender of the baby. It was a girl. I was over the moon excited. I just LOVE baby girls!!! Coming up with her name was a little bit harder than the first time. But we had her name within about 2 weeks...

August 3rd came quickly, the day our sweet girl would be born. I was a nervous wreck. I had never left big sis, though she'd be spending the nights at home with daddy, I was still sad to leave her for 2 days. It was SO hard. We left her with a friend that morning and headed to the hospital. Only after we left her and I knew she was ok, did I get excited about baby. It took about 2 hours or so to get set up in the hospital and whatnot, and it felt like forever. All I wanted was to see and hold my second born. We had a c-section, I was fully alert and talking through the whole thing. I kept asking the doctor if she was out yet. lol When they finally gave her to me, they took off her little hat so I could see her head full of pretty black hair. I was in love, and all the feeling of being anxious of having 2 kids melted away. I couldn't imagine how we lived so long w/out this little one in our family. When big sis came to visit, she immediately asked to hold her baby sister. It was so sweet.

Now here we are 8 plus months later. I have to say, going from 1 to 2 kids has been super hard. I know lots of ppl aren't phased by the difference, but it's been the most exhausting, physically, mentally and spiritually draning 8 months. Of course totally worth it!!! Of my friends who experienced the same feelings, they've said going from 2 to 3 was a lot easier. I hope so! B/c I would love a house full of kids, but I don't know how I'll handle it. lol The girls LOVE each other and it's so sweet to watch them together. I can't wait to watch them grow up to be best friends. I"m sure there'll be lots of fights, but watching them together right now just melts my heart. They are so sweet, and I am so blessed!!!! God is good and I'm so thankful I get to be their mama.

And I have to add, I just LOVE both my girls, my heart grew w/ the birth of my second.  I can't believe we waited so long for her to join our family.

Matchy girls

So when I found out I was pregnant with another girl, I never thought I'd be into my girls matching. I was forced to match w/ my twin sister all the time, and didn't want to force that on my girls. BUT I've gone on a matching craze, lol. It's pretty cute! The girls were given a gift card and I used it to buy these super cute dresses, and of course had to make matching bows. I've also made them several matching dresses, and they have more that I've bought. They don't match all the time, but sometimes I like to do it.. It's pretty stinking cute. ;)

I can't think of a title

Our family on Easter Sunday

Wow, it's been a while since I've blogged. Between being busy and not really having anything to blog about, it's hard to sit down to come up with something. I used to use this blog to catch friends up on what's happening, but no one really reads this, so I don't see a point. lol
But here is some updates, just in case I do have a reader or 2.. lol
Big sis is approaching 3 1/2.. Crazy! She is such a busybody, such a bundle of energy, she sure keeps us busy. She is super talkative. She is so helpful, anytime she sees me cleaning, she jumps in to help. She thinks she's older than she actually is. ;)
She has really gotten into My little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake. She loves "cooking" for mommy and serving us food.

Baby sister is 8 months old. Seems crazy! These past few days I've been a bit emotional b/c it's hit me that these 8 months have flown by, I miss my tiny little baby. She is so cuddly and sweet, and a total mama's girl. I love it! She is still sleeping in our room, waking up 1-2x a night. This part is hard on me, big sis was sleeping through the night by 9 weeks. But I know she'll get there. She finally likes to eat baby food, it took her a while. Her favorites are sweet potato and yogurt.
Right now she has 4 teeth, 2 in the bottom, 2 at the top. The top ones were killers coming in, poor baby suffered many awake and restless nights. :(
She is also showing interest in crawling, but has only managed to scooch backwards. It's so cute.

Our little family has been busy. Daddy is working hard to provide for us. He's also been working hard to finish his book. For those who don't know, he writes his own graphic novels (comic book). He is such a wonderful write/artist. I can't wait to see his finished book. His goal is to be done by August, then we'll either self publish or find a publisher. I think hubby will decide once the book is done...

My beauties

I'm a blessed girl for sure!
