Hard worker

For those who don't know, hubby is an artist.  He is working on a graphic novel which will be finished by Aug/Sept.  Then the fun will begin of trying to get it published.  We're super excited.  Hubby is SO talented and I'm so proud of him!

One of hubby's favorite activity with big sis is to write books together. :)  Big sis has written 2 books (about 7 pages or so) and daddy illustrates.  They were done in crayon, and as of now, I just have pictures of it.  She decided to add her own spin to it and colored over daddy's drawings. lol  SO daddy has decided to sit w/ her on his fancy computer and illustrate digitally.  As soon as he walks in the door she says "come on daddy, we gotta work on my book".  So she tells him her story and he illustrates.  He does 1 page a day, and they haven't been able to work in a few days.  But she has the entire story written out (in her head) and is ready to finish.  They have 3 pages done and it's super cute.  Her main characters are a penguin and a trex. I can't wait till they finish!

Here they are hard at work!

a 10 month lesson

3 1/2 years ago I became a mother.  One of the best days of my life, I will never forget holding my firstborn daughter for the first time, I was instantly in love.  She was my princess, my whole heart.

We adjusted to parenthood fairly easy, especially after she started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks.  There were still things that we had to learn through out the years, things we're still learning, but all in all, adjusting to a family of 3 was not too difficult and we just loved parenthood.

Then came Dec 2011, when I found out I was pregnant again.  It was something we all wanted, but it equally terrified me to have another baby.  I was freaking out about being a mom of 2, but excited to have a new baby.

Then came August 2012, another great day, the day my 2nd daughter was born.  All my fears and anxiety  vanished when I finally held her in my arms.

Becoming a family of 4 was a bit harder.  We def needed teamwork, but it was/is HARD!  I LOVE having 2 sweet girls, and am so thankful for God's blessing!  I wouldn't have it any other way.  But in these past 10 months I've learned/accepted many things.

1.  I am much happier if I accept the fact that I may never get a full night's sleep again. lol
2.  Everything takes longer with 2 kids
3.  I've learned to nurse just about anywhere, as long as I'm covered :)
4.  Patience is something I have to work on
5.  I love matching the girls :)
6.  Terrible 3's and a newborn was not a good combo, but we got through it lol
7.  I am always stocked up on coffee
8.  Mommy's day out is a must!
9.  laughing with your kids takes some stress off
10. Power naps are awesome and sometimes needed

I am sure there is a lot more, but I can't remember. lol  One of the main things I have learned is that I will be sleep deprived, for a while. lol  Baby sis still isn't sleeping through the night, so I don't get a good night's sleep.  I need a good night's sleep, otherwise even the hulk would fear me, but I have not slept in 10 months.  And most days I have to remind myself to be ok w/ it.  And some days I feel crazy!

But the sleep deprivation, the fatigue, exhaustion and crazyness, is totally and 100% worth it!!  I love motherhood!  I am still not fully adjusted to life w/ 2 little ones, but I know I'll get there.  Things get progressively easy and I know one day I'll miss these days w/ my littles. :)

Oh how I love them!

10 months

I already posted that baby girl turned 10 months on June 3rd.  Seems completely insane!  I do a photoshoot every month of the girls, these days I mainly do of baby b/c she changes more from month to month.  She is such a sweetie.
She is such a cuddle bug, total mama's girl.  She has started to try to talk.  She says mama.  I LOVE it.  I'm teaching her 'sissy", but all that comes out is "shhh" lol
she is loving "real" food and am so thankful she's eating more than just milk.  She is trying so hard to stand up and walk.  She gets so excited about it.. lol

Her hair is getting thicker and thicker, and a gorgeous black, like mama's. :)  Her eyes are still a blueish grey, I am really hoping it stays.  Big sis had beautiful baby blue eyes until she turned 1, then they turned hazel, which is still beautiful.  Little sis has always had a grey/blue eyes, and they really pop with her dark hair. :)

Cute face with all her chompers showing :)

Gorgeous girl in our photo shoot!

My girls

Can I just say how in love I am with my girls!?  I am so beyond blessed, they light up my life.  And oh they L-O-V-Eeach other!  Baby sister lights up and smiles from ear to ear anytime big sis is around.  And big sis can't be w/out baby sis.  They have been sharing a room for about 5 weeks now and big sis always worries that we're taking baby sister out of there. lol

Aren't they so cute!? :)

2 month countdown...

On the 3rd my sweet little baby girl turned 10 months old.  I can't believe I'll have a 1 year old in 2 months.  AAAHHHHHH  That's insane!  It is bittersweet, but also exciting.  I remember when big sis was this age, I struggled a LOT with her getting bigger.  But this time, as hard as it is to watch my baby grow, it's so fun to see her personality come out and to see my girls relationship grow as sisters and friends.

Here's my big 10 month old!

Me and my girl.  She's a total mama's girl and I absolutely love it!

Me and my 2 princesses!  I just love them to pieces, so thankful for them!

At 10 months, we are still working on eating solids.  Baby sister's favorite food is milk!  She will choose nursing over any type of food every time!  It's draining mommy, but it's worth it!  She likes baby food, but still won't eat it a lot.  I've started giving her regular food, which she likes.  I think mainly just b/c she likes to feed herself.  So far she's had and liked, bread, grapes, watermelon, peas, pasta, carrots, green beans.  There might be more but I can't remember.  She refuses to eat pancakes and bananas.

She is a crawling machine, she loves to follow sister around.  No one can get her to smile like big sis.  It's super sweet.  She is dying to walk, but I'm in no hurry.

I am so blessed w/ my girls!

My little artist

I have a little artist in the making.  She's always liked to color, but not a whole lot.  Lately though, she has  LOVED to color, she carries crayons with her all the time.  She's gotten so good!

swimming

For memorial day weekend we spent Saturday at a nearby town, we met up with one of hubby's friends and spent the day in the pool.  It was our first pool day for the summer, and baby sister's first time in the pool!  Big sis has always LOVED the water, and so does baby sis.  It's amazing that I have 2 water babies.

taking it all in.  She LOVED splashing around.

 The kiddie pool

Big sis enjoyed being able to swim around in the kiddie pool.

Pretty babies in their new bathing suits!  I was so happy to find them matching zebra print, it's "our" pattern here ;)
