3rd trimester is here!

This past weekend we hit the 29 week mark.  11 weeks to go, less than 3 months.  I'm trying not to freak out.  We have NOTHING done! AAHHH
We will start getting stuff done this week though.  Daddy has to clear out the office to make room for the nursery.  The girls new beds arrive next wednesday so then baby will have his crib ;)

At 29 weeks things are pretty much the same.  I'm having trouble sleeping.  There is no such thing as a comfortable position.  Heartburn is also pretty bad.  Thankfully zantac is helping, some.  Baby boy is so active and loves kicking and moving.  I love it! :)

The closer we get to the end, the more bittersweet it is.  This is our last baby and I just love being pregnant, for the most part. lol  I love feeling the sweet kicks and watching my belly grow.  Though I will not miss the pain and discomfort. lol  I guess I can look forward to getting my body back in shape.  Though I will always miss these sweet moments of pregnancy, I am very much looking forward to meeting my son.

Just like mommy

When I was a little girl, I thought my mom was the prettiest, smartest, coolest person in the world.  I played dress up in her clothes and shoes and wanted to look and be just like her.

These memories came flooding back when I started thinking about my girls.  I have 2 princesses, who just love me.  It is extremely overwhelming to think about.  They want to put on make up whenever I'm doing mine, they want to wear my shoes... Anytime they see me first thing in the morning, sans make up or brushing my hair, they say "mommy you look so pretty".  It is the sweetest thing.  When I'm cleaning, they run to help me.  They like to clean the sink, dust the furniture, vacuum and whatever I am doing at the moment. lol

There are moments that I am reminded that they look up to me.  They love me so much, they want to be on top of me, they fight over who gets mommy's lap.  Moments when I say or do something out of anger and live with the regret.  Moments when I cuddle with one of them and apologize and they are SO quick to forgive me.  Those moments I am reminded that I am so much more than just "mom".  I am to show them Christ's love.  I'm their example, someone they look up to, someone they want to be just like.  Those moments are beyond overwhelming.  Who am I that they should admire so much?  I'm not good enough.  I fail, a LOT!

Thankfully I'm not alone in raising these princesses who so much want to be like mommy.  I can show them that mommy is also a sinner, mommy also makes mistakes.  The moments when I have to apologize for my mistakes I can remind them of how God forgives us.  I show them I am just a sinner, like them.  I'm thankful they love me so much they forgive me.  I'm also thankful that I can do all things through HIM.  I pray I can be the mom He wants me to be.  I'm not going to be perfect.  And that scares me.  But I know they will always look up to me, to be their example and role model.  I want to be a godly example for them, I want them to see Christ in my life.  I can't do it alone.  I'm thankful that God is with me and will help me everyday.

I honestly am not good at spending time in the Word daily.  I fail, daily.  I try.  There are mornings that before I wake up I open up my Bible and spend some time reading and in prayer.  Some mornings I am "too tired" to read, but most mornings I pray, at least a quick prayer, that God will help me through the day.  That I will honor Him in my day, especially when it comes to my girls.  I hope and pray that I can be a godly example to them.  I know I will fail.  I know there will be days that I want a do over.  And that is when I'm thankful for forgiveness and for new days...

Soccer Star!

Big sister started soccer a few weeks ago.  This past Saturday was her first game.  It was pretty comical to see a bunch of 3-5 year olds who have never played before try to play a game.  They were all over the place.  Big sis is really fast and did a great job keeping up, she needs a bit more practice in getting the ball. lol

All in all she's doing good and really enjoying being out there.  I love that she is getting some exercise and making some new friends.  I'm thankful we've been able to put her in soccer.  I love getting to watch her play!

28 down- 12 to go...

This weekend marked our 28 week point.  I can hardly believe we only have 12 weeks left.  Hardly seems like enough time to get ready.  We have NOTHING done.

At 28 weeks baby boy is SUPER active, especially after eating some sugar :)
The past few days have been super hard on me sleep wise.  I can't get comfortable and thanks to PGP the pain is getting much worse.  Now my lower back is also killing me.  But we'll make do.  Nothing I can do about it. lol Heartburn has also been really bad, so I'm switching from tums to zantac.
My doctor also insists on me exercising.  I gained too much weight this past month.  sigh...

I am loving feeling baby boy move and kick.  About a week or so ago big sis and daddy finally got to feel him move.  They were super excited.  We are all looking forward to his arrival!

Speaking of which, today I had my 28 week appt.  My doctor informed me that he will be gone the week I'm due!  I'm freaking out!  I'm always scheduled.  And he won't schedule me before he leaves.  My options are having his partner do my delivery OR go into labor earlier.  I've never gone into labor :(  I'm PRAYING I go into labor b/c I can't imagine anyone else delivering my last baby :(

27 down...

This past Saturday marked 27 weeks with our sweet boy.  Time really is flying by!!!!  NOTHING is ready. ha!  One of the first things we need to do is get the girls new beds (baby sis is still in the crib/toddler bed).  We should be ordering their beds by next week.  Hoping to order them by the weekend but we shall see.  We'll also be getting them both new bedding and I'm completely redoing their room.  I'm so excited!

Anyways, this past Saturday I finally caved and did my glucose test.  I hate that dumb test.  This is my 3rd pregnancy and 6th glucose test.  I took 1 1 hour test and 2 3 hour tests with my first, and 2 3 hour tests with my second.  I had Gestational Diabetes with big sis, so it's always a worry for us.  I didn't have it w/ #2, but for some reason I am nervous this time around.  We shall see!  I see my dr next week so I'll find out then.

This past week also brought some fun memories.  Big sis has been dying to feel her brother's kicks.  A few days ago, she felt him kick.  She was so excited.  Daddy was a bit sad b/c anytime he put his hand on my belly, baby boy would stop moving.  But last night, daddy got to feel his boy kick!  Such a sweet time. :)

Very excited to feel baby :)

26 weeks

Saturday we celebrated 26 weeks with our gift! Can't believe how fast this is going.  In less than 14 weeks we'll be holding our sweet boy in our arms.  I can't wait!

I was thinking back at how fast these past 6 months have gone.  We've definitely faced a lot in this pregnancy.  At 12 weeks we thought we lost our boy.  I remember the drive to the ER, thinking there was no way I still had a baby in me.  I remember waiting for the doctor and just feeling numb.  I knew I had lost the baby.  And then came the ultrasound.  I was praying so hard!  And when the tech showed me this beautiful little heartbeat, I lost it.  I hadn't cried up to that point.  I was prepared for bad news.  I had no idea I'd be hearing, and seeing a beautiful little life.  After that the pregnancy became harder and harder on me physically.  We still dealt with signs of miscarriage for a few weeks, along w/ a lot of pain.  There are days that I feel useless.  Days where the pain is unbearable.  Days where the exhaustion is just simply overwhelming.  And then I remind myself of that day, the day I thought I'd never meet my baby.  And so I remain thankful for the exhaustion and pain... Thankful that we'll soon have a son, and all that I've been through will be worth it.
We're very thankful for this sweet gift and we're all looking forward to meeting him :)

Trust

Lately I've had a hard time trusting in Him and His time.  We have been waiting for about a month on some important documents in order to file our taxes.  These documents are out of my control.  Until we get them, we are stuck.  I've been dealing w/ anger and impatience each time I come back from the mailbox with no documents. I really want to get our taxes done so we can get our money. lol
We were told last month that we'd get it by the end of the month.  The end of the month came and nothing.  Then on the 4th, 1 week ago I finally got through and talked to someone (it took several days/calls to get to an actual human).  They told me everything had been mailed out by that Monday, the 3rd and I should have it within 5 business days.

Yeah, it's been 7 and NOTHING.  I called again yesterday, when my husband gave me "permission" to call and say whatever I wanted.  I had been saying they'd get my angry latina side ;)  When I got through to talk to someone, she was very nice, I reminded myself that none of it was her fault and anger would get me nowhere.  So we spoke, she agreed to email me the files, which would take around 48 hours (it's been 24) and she'd mail me another hard copy.  So I wait, and wait... It did not arrive today.  I dealt with more anger.

Seems silly, it's just a document, but it's got our lives on hold.  I can't believe how angry I get over it.  It may be somewhat insignificant, but it will happen in God's timing.  I don't know why we're having to wait so long.  Maybe God's trying to teach me patience. ;)

All this has definitely taught me to work through my patience.  And to pray through it. It's been challenging to wait, again, seems like something so stupid to worry about.  But I'll keep praying through it.

Soccer Time

Today big sis started soccer.  We have been wanting to get her involved in a sports activity and felt she'd enjoy soccer.  She had a blast out there and we can't wait till her first game! :)

Ready for her first day of practice!

Little sis was dying to get out there and play with her sister and the big kids.  She finally snuck in and was pretty excited  :)

Copying all the big kids lol  I had to get her away from the field after this.

Practicing kicking the ball to the net
 Goal!!!!!

So thankful we were able to put her in this.  She ended up making a friend, running around and just had a blast.  It was so neat to watch her and I really hope she enjoys the season.

He's the best!

I will never get sick of saying that I truly have the best husband!!!!  My pregnancies aren't the easiest on me physically, so there are a LOT of days that I accomplish nothing.  There are a lot of days where I can't move off the couch and the girls watch tv all day.  I hate those days.  But we're in survival mode.

Hubby has been amazing.  he helps out around the house, takes care of the girls 1000% from the second he walks in the door to the time they go to bed.  He cleans the kitchen every night, some nights he even cooks dinners.  I try to do the cooking b/c I feel bad if he has to do it all.  He's just been amazing, taking care of everything and he never complains.  I'm so super thankful for him and all he does for our family!

There is so much more he does.  He's been working hard in his full time job, hard on his book series and so much more.  He is superman!!!!

When it hits me!

I have a constant reminder that I am pregnant.  B/t the pain in my pelvis and hips, the bulging belly and the sweet kicks, I am well aware that there's a sweet baby growing in my belly.  But there are moments when it REALLY hits me.  In June I will have a baby in my arms!  I know I'm pregnant and there's a baby, but I never really think about him being out and us being a family of 5.  I don't know why I don't think about it, probably b/c I'm too busy w/ my 2 beauties to really stop and think about how life will change in June.  So there are moments when I look at our very messy office that daddy's cleaning out and realize that it will soon be a nursery. Or the moment my sweet daughter kisses her brother and tells him she loves him.  Moments when I am walking aimlessly around Target looking at cute boy clothes and realize that I will need some of those.  And I am hit with the reality that we will indeed have a son, a baby boy will be in MY house in less than 4 months.  I will hold him, and change him and feed him and probably never want to put him down.  Weird!!!! lol

And those moments I also remind myself to enjoy my girls.  I love it when they come to sit with me and want cuddles.  I love when baby sis says "I hold you" and she wraps her tiny arms around my neck.  It's just the sweetest moments.  Or when big sis and I sit together and she proudly tells me a story... I soak up those moments b/c I know it'll be harder with 3.

3...

In the past I have been told that the way to get pregnant would be to get rid of all your baby stuff/maternity stuff.  We held onto all our stuff for years.  We used it through 2 babies and once baby sister turned 2 last August, we got rid of all our baby stuff.  The main reason being we moved into a rental house and we didn't want to have our garage to be crowded with stuff we weren't using or sure we'd ever use again.  I did keep baby clothes and maternity clothes.  But all the baby items such as changing table, swing, bouncy seats and such we got rid of.  We have nothing!
So we got rid of it in August and 2 months later I stared at a positive pregnancy test. lol
We have been given a bassinet and changing table.  So we're making progress. :) I completed our baby registry this weekend.  I feel a tad weird creating a registry for #3, but not only do I not have baby stuff, we also don't have boy stuff...

Speaking of #3, I've really felt bothered lately... I feel like people don't get as excited about #3 as they did #1... I get that it's not "new" to us, but it's still a sweet gift and we are still as excited as we were with our first... I just wish people weren't so "blah" when they talked to me about it.  Oh well, they're not important.  We love our sweet boy and can't wait to meet him!

25 weeks down 15 to go...

This weekend I hit my 25 week mark!  So exciting.  On Sunday I wore the above dress.  At church I got tons of compliments.  I was also told that I look very small, then later in the day I had people tell me  I looked huge 0_0  Talk about a blow to my self esteem... lol  Oh well, baby's healthy and growing, that's what matters...

This weekend I got to go to a baby shower for an old friend who is having her first.  She's also having a boy, a week after me.  SO excited!!!!  Her shower was amazing and I am so happy for her.  She's just glowing and looked so happy!  So thankful she has so many people in her life that showered her with so many goodies!!!

After coming home from celebrating her sweet upcoming arrival, I got so excited about our boy.  We have 1 baby shower in April, my amazing mother in law and sister are co hosting.  I completed my registry this past Friday at Target.  I've only registered in one place b/c it's our 3rd and I don't see a need for anything else.  Unfortunately we got rid of ALL of our baby stuff, so we need everything... But the Lord provides.  We were given a changing table this weekend, and I was so excited!  We'll be painting it soon to match the nursery.  And like I tell hubby, by "we" I mean that he will be painting ;)

We're all getting anxious for our sweet boy and we're very excited.

A New "normal"

Today I'm 25 weeks, 15 weeks more to go! :)  We are nowhere near ready for his arrival, but starting to clean out the office and decluttering the house to make room.

I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort from my PGP.  These past few days have brought a new pain in my hip.  It was so unbearable last night I was crying in pain.  I am not a wimp when it comes to pain, but man it's bad.  I've had to keep walking to a minimum.  Today was a bit better, but anytime I start moving around too much, the pain gets to the unbearable stage.  Bending down is a definite no no for me at this point.

I love being pregnant.  I love his sweet kicks and watching my belly grow.  I never in a million years thought that pregnancy for me would also mean unbearable pain.  My first pregnancy was so easy, I only had pain right at the very end.  I also dealt with gestational diabetes.  My second pregnancy was hard, lots of PGP from the beginning and after our 31 week scare of early labor, I dealt with constant contractions till her arrival date.  This time around is proving to be the same, other than the contractions part.  Praying that he'll continue to grow and stay put until he's "done" ;)

I have hard days, days that the girls and I just watch movies, days where the house doesn't get cleaned or dinner doesn't get cooked.. Days where I feel like a failure as a wife and mother.  Thankfully hubby is so understanding and amazing.  He lovingly encourages me and helps me with whatever I need help. I'm so thankful for him!!!
