Earrings
Today, S got her ears pierced! She did really well... She screamed the moment her ears were pierced, but I was able to calm her down pretty quickly. She's got little diamond studs and she looks so cute!

Mommy's girl
When I was growing up, I always wanted a career. My dream was to become a lawyer. But then I went to Bible college and at the same time, I started dating M. Plans changed. I new dream became to become a stay at home mom. I stay home 5 days of the week and I cannot wait till I can do it 7 days. But I do love staying home. I feel the most fulfilled when I am home taking care of my house and family. I love spending all that time with S and knowing that I am raising her the way my husband and I want to. I don't think there's anything wrong with daycare, and lots of people have no other choice, but I am so thankful that I have the choice to stay home. We've had to make lot's of sacrifices, but they are all worth it, if it means staying home with my girl! I feel that my family is my ministry and my career right now, and there is no other job I would rather have!!!
This is a bad picture of me, but as you can see, my beautiful girl, does not really look like me. :o) It's ok!

Ponderings
The past couple of weeks have been hard at our house because we are sleep deprived. S had been sleeping through the night since 9 weeks old, but now she's decided she doesn't want to... And a lot of nights, she does not want to go to bed. I have been frustrated and exhausted... I've begged God for sleep, and it has not been granted to me. Which added to my frustrations.. But the past 2 days, I've just been given a renewed energy. So in a way, God has answered my prayer, not to grant me sleep, but at least to have energy to stay up with S. I also realized, that I need to make the most of it and just enjoy the sleepless nights, because it won't last forever. So whenever S wakes up, we just laugh at each other and I play with her and enjoy our time together...
To add to my thoughts, today, I was hit with an overwhelming feeling of guilt. Here I was complaining that I am not sleeping as much as I wish I were because my healthy baby is keeping me up... And there are so many couples out there that wish they could have a baby and wouldn't mind the sleepless nights as long as it meant they were holding their own child... I know so many people who have miscarried or lost a baby, people who have been trying to get pregnant but can't... How selfish am I?! I have a beautiful healthy baby girl, who on occasion keeps me up, and I was complaining. No more!!! I will enjoy every minute with her, even through exhaustion! I am so thankful for her and she really does make me smile just by looking at her.... So to summarize this post, I just realized that I need to be thankful for my baby through the hard times as well as the easy times, and I really am! And I will work on not complaining about my lack of sleep.

woes and celebrations
First of all I wanted to thank everyone for your prayers about S. I really appreciate it! Yesterday was an exciting day in the household. S went poopies all on her own, no help at all!!! :o) Ah the things you celebrate when you're a parent. lol But seriously, we're hoping that this will mean she's gotten better from whatever it was that was stopping her... We will wait and see what the next few days will bring us. In the meantime, she's still scheduled for that test. I still want to know what's been going on for the past 2 months... So we'll see. Hopefully yesterday wasn't just a fluke.
So, now to our woes... S has been sleeping through the night since she was 9 weeks old. The past 2 weeks have been so exhausting. She has several nights where she won't go to sleep at her regular bedtime, she wants to stay up till 11 or 12, for no reason at all. She's not crying or anything, she's just awake. The more exhausting thing is that she'll kind of wake up anywhere from 3-10 times a night fussing b/c she wants her pacifier. So I have to get up and giver her her binky and she goes back to sleep immediately. Now you're thinking, no big deal.. Well, when you're doing that every 30 minutes or every hour, it gets exhausting. So for the past 2 weeks, I've been so fatigued, and drained. I have zero energy. It's hard to get anything done. I'm so tired, my body aches all the time. I have no idea what to do. Someone suggested take vitamins, so I may do that... If you guys can pray that I have more energy that would be awesome! :o) On the bright side, I haven't really gotten any migraines in the past few weeks...

Doctor's visit
Today was S's 4 month check up. It was a looong visit, the poor thing crashed when she got home!
She had her shots and screamed the whole time. Mommy cried a little with her... She is mommy's big girl! In weight, she's at 50% percentile at 13.9 pounds. In height, the doctor even said she is tall for her age, at 75-90% percentile at 25 1/2 inches. I was very surprised. She grew close to 3 inches in 2 months...
Now, for the not so happy news. S has been having problems with her bowels for about 2 months now. In layman's terms, she won't poopies on her own. :( We've been giving her suppositories. The doctor wanted us to try several different things from dark Karo syrup to milk of magnesia to applesauce. Nothing has worked. So S has to have a barium enema, which is a test to check her bowels and intestines and stuff. :( It will be done at Wolfson's, unfortunately, we have to wait until April. If you guys could keep her in your prayers, the doctor doesn't really know why things haven't changed for S, so that's why we gotta do the test... I just want everything to be ok with her... I've been really worried about this because it's not normal, S will go for over a week without any signs of poopies until we give her a suppository. So we need to figure out what's going on...
Anyways, for happier news, the doctor was very impressed with how well she can hold her head up and how she can almost turn over.

First bite!!!
Due to some non-poopies issues, the doctor wanted us to start giving S baby food now, to help her along. We started with prunes, and she really likes it. M was the first one to feed her, of course I took tons of pictures! It was hard for me to see my baby eat food because it's a sign that she's growing up. But I know it's for the best, and she'll always be my baby!
