July 26th

I wasn't sure I would get a chance to blog tomorrow, so I decided to do it today. But 5 years ago, on July 26th 2004 my prince charming asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes. He came to pick me up for our date with a bouquet of white roses (my favorite flowers are white tulips, but they were not in season). Then he took me to my favorite place ever, St. Augustine. We hung around there for a little while, then we went to another city to have dinner. I really thought he'd have proposed to me in my favorite city, so when we left, I was a bit disappointed b/c I thought he wasn't going to propose. So on we went, had dinner, then started the drive back home. On the way home, he wanted to stop at the beach and walk around. I said sure... As we were walking, the sun was setting, and he told me he wanted to show me something. He took me to a spot on the beach and told me that's where he was when he asked God if he should pursue a relationship w/ me and got the answer to do so and felt a peace that it's what God wanted for him. Then got on his knee and proposed. I said yes! :) After that, we sat and watched the waves and we prayed and asked God to bless our marriage. Then I just stared and stared at my beautiful ring. He then proceeded to tell me how he got the ring. He was a waiter for his parents restaurant, and was saving money to buy a ring. One of his regular customers brought a friend to dinner with her and told her all about Mike and how he was saving money for a ring. Well the friend (who apparantly was wearing several diamond rings) took off a set she was wearing and gave it to my hubby. She told him that he could have the rings so he could go ahead and propose. Isn't that amazing! What a blessing from God! And I LOVE that story and the ring! The diamond was cut in the early 1900's and the ring was made in the 1930's. And I love antiques! I just love remembering how God took care of such a small detail as giving us a ring, a beautiful one. It was just proof to us that He would always be there for us, to provide for us through anything! And 5 years later, it is true, HE has provided and has remained faithful in taking care of all our needs!

Here are some pictures of the past 6 years we've been together. I love looking back and seeing proof that God has taken care of us and blessed us so much more than we deserve!!! I love my life with my hubby, it's everything anyone could ask for. And I love my hubby!

Food time!

My baby is growing up fast, and is so smart! :) The other day, I was holding her, and went to get her lunch, she grabbed the spoon from my hand and put it in her mouth... She knew what it was for!

"How do you open this?!"

"Mom, I need some food on my spoon!"

BBQ Burger

My hubby loves BBQ burgers, so I decided to try out my own recipe and make it for him. I've made it twice and he loves it! I thought I'd share the recipe. It's simple, I just use stuff I already have at home.

1. I use 1lb ground beef. Put beef in a bowl w/ seasonings (I use blk pepper, salt, Italian seasoning). Put 2 Tablespoons of BBQ sauce and mix it all up. I also use chives in here. Let it all marinate for a couple hours.

2. Mold beef to make patties. You can put about 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (I've made it w/out breadcrumbs too and it came out fine) so that the burger will stay together. With 1 lb of beef, I can make 3 patties.

3. Fry the patties on a skillet (I use about 2 tablespoons of oil). Fry for about 5 minutes, both sides.

4. Line flat pan or cookie sheet with foil and spray Pam on it. Lay your slices of bread on there. Brush some BBQ sauce on the bread. Layer the pattie on the bread. Put cheese on top. Cover w/ another slice of bread. You can use any type of bread.

5. Put in oven at 300 degrees for 10-15 minutes. I flip the burger at the 1/2 time mark.

6. Your BBQ burger is all done! You can also use lettuce and tomatoes as toppings, but I didn't have that at home.

mom and dad

S just keep getting more and more fun. She has 4 top teeth coming in. The front 2 have already cut, the other 2 are coming right behind, on her left side. She looks so cute with teeth. She's had the bottom 2 for 2 months now...
She is growing fast, and we're loving every minute of it.

M and I love parenthood, it's such an amazing blessing! We wouldn't trade it for anything. I thank God every night for blessing me with motherhood and giving me the honor of being S's mom. She is an amazing baby. I know every parent thinks this, and it's our right, but S is the cutest and bestest baby in the whole world! :)

M is truly the best father ever! He loves spending time with his girl, and always rushes home after work to spend some time with her before she goes to bed. I am so thankful for him. :)

Late nights....

On Sunday night, M was out with a friend. My little angel refused to go to sleep. So we hung out and took silly pictures. :) Here are some from that night. As tired as I was, I made the most of it. I know I'll miss the late nights with my sweet girl.

8 months old!

On Friday, the 3rd, S turned 8 months old. She is still the awesomest baby ever! Not a day goes by that I am not in awe of her and still falling more and more in love with my little angel. She is so fun!
At 8 months she:
wears a size 1 shoes
wears 6-9 months clothes, some 9-12 months
has 2 bottom teeth, and 4 upper teeth coming in
sits up by herself
can stand with someone holding her
rolls over from front to back and vise versa
is recently figuring out that she can scoot herself to grab things (crawling may come soon)
can feed herself puffs and crackers
eats 2 veggies and 2 fruit a day, plus tons of milk and applesauce
babbles all the time
can sign the word "eat"

Last night M and I were in the living room with her and we both swear she said "mom". lol She definetly has her own little name for me. She calls me all the time and it's so cute! And she says "dadadada", but we think it's more babble than actually saying daddy. She'll get there...

MOSH

On one of M's days off, we took S to the MOSH. It was so much fun! She seemed to enjoy herself. We had a lot of fun because we got to spend the day together! I love it when the 3 of us get to hang out all day long!

S and daddy wait for the Planetarium show to start. She almost made it the whole time sitting by herself...

S passed out in mommy's arms... Too much fun wore her out!

Still passed out....

Daddy shows her the dinos...
