33 weeks down 7 to go...

Here I am in all my glory lol  33 weeks along with our sweet boy.  I can't believe we only 7 weeks or so to go.  Seems surreal.  I know I say that every time. But this has very slowly set in.  It's not "real" to us yet.

We had a small family/friends baby shower this past weekend and got some cute stuff for him.  This coming weekend we have a small baby shower with church friends.  I'm so thankful to have people who love us and share in the excitement as we welcome our sweet son.

This weekend we also finally got the office all cleaned out and ready for it to become baby's room.  His furniture is getting painted, the decorations are mostly ready to be hung.  I'm hoping by next week we'll have his room all done.  His room was a lot easier to prepare than the girls.  Other than the painting, I haven't had to do much.  I still have to make his blanket and valance, but those are easy.

I have had a hard week so far, yesterday I could barely move from the couch.  About 5 days ago I missed the last 1-2 steps in our stairs and came tumbling down.  I sat on the floor for a minute to see what would happen and held back tears.  I felt like a horrible mother.  Thankfully he started moving around and I haven't felt any effects from it, other than some pain.  Today I've had a lot of pain and some contractions, I've had a hard time standing for long and nothing's been done.  But I'm hoping to have a better day...

Shark shower!

My sister and Mother in law threw me a lovely, intimate shower to celebrate our baby boy!  His nursery is Jaws themed (per daddy) and so the shower was shark themed :)  These will go in his room!
 shark cupcakes!

They tied a ribbon on the big belly!

My lap is full and I love it!  So blessed to be a mama to 2 beautiful princesses and a soon to come prince :)

There are more pictures of me opening gifts and whatnot but I'll spare you.  Baby boy got lots of cute outfits, his swing, car seat and more... :)  We are blessed!!!

Thankful

I tend to get so caught up on focusing on things I want and can't get.  One of my biggest faults is watching people around me or on facebook and seeing how "perfect" everything is.  It truly seems like there are people who have everything they could ever want.  But the grass is always greener on the other side, right!?  Those "perfect" people, I'm not in their house, I don't know their hearts.  There is no perfect.  But sometimes it's easy to focus on the wrong things, and I tend to get caught up on the fact that everyone gets everything.  Which is not true.  Even if it were, God has a different plan for everyone.

And I'm thankful for God's plan for me.  I'm thankful He loves me enough to plan my life.  In thinking of past trials, I remember becoming angry b/c I wasn't getting my way "now".  I have always been impatient and it always seemed like God's trials were always forcing me to wait.  In 31 years you'd think I'd learn patience already. lol I'm thankful for those trials b/c I've grown with each one.

I sit here, scrolling through facebook and reading about everyone's trials.  From job losses to infertility, they are all so faithful to trust God through it all.
I am reminded to thank my Lord for our blessings.  Hubby's job may not pay as much as we "want", but we are taken care of, all our needs are provided for.  And I'm so thankful for my 2 princesses.  I have been so exhausted and have even found myself complaining sometimes about how loud or talkative one of my girls are.  But they are my precious babies, and I'm so thankful they're here, healthy and happy.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to stay home with them and be their teacher.  I have been pretty miserable with this pregnancy, but I'm so thankful for this sweet life growing in me.  So excited for our son and so thankful for the sweet gift of carrying him.

So I really want to focus on being more thankful instead of focusing on things I'm having to wait for.  God is good and has blessed me more than I deserve!

Girls room reveal

I am happy to say that the girls room is finally done (except for 1 piece which daddy needs to do)

I have been planning this room on pinterest for a year or so.  I searched for MONTHS for a pretty quilt, I knew I wanted those happy colors, but couldn't find anything that I wanted to pay for.  Then I found these quilts at both Wal mart and amazon, we ended up ordering from amazon.  I loved that they came with a pretty sham and no skirt.  From the quilts we bought matching fabric for the valance.  I knew I wanted something different and girly for valance, so my mother in law and I made ruffles and I LOVE how they came out.  They already had pink S and J from my sister... The beds are captain beds from Rooms to Go.  LOVE them!

This is big sis' side of bed.  That blank wall is missing some artwork, but we're waiting on daddy.  I'll be sure to share a picture once it's completed.

I fell in love with an ombre style dresser I saw on pinterest.  I was determined to do the same.  We bought this ready to paint dresser from Ikea and painted the body green and the drawers pink.  I love love love how it came out.

I already had these 4 canvases in the room that matched the old decor so I covered with leftover fabric from the valance.  I love how it came out :)

Baby sister's side of bedroom.

I wanted a small piece of furniture for her end of the bed b/c with 2 girls sharing a room, storage is always an issue.  A friend gave us this beautiful nightstand table and we painted it to match room.  It's become my absolute favorite piece of the room.
 In between their beds.

I made the sister sign for between their beds.  The girls painted a birdhouse to match the room :)

Because the girls love My little Pony, daddy drew that picture for them :)  I made the subway art.  This hangs above baby sis bed.

Matching Princess bow holder.

This room ended up taking longer than I thought.  But the majority of the room was made by nona, daddy and me.  So it takes time :)  We're all super happy with it and I'm so thankful to be done!

soccer

We're halfway through the soccer season.  Big sis has fun out there, but we've had moments where she's wanted to quit.  She's not very active so she gets a bit lazy. lol  But when she's out there she has fun and it's neat to watch her!  Baby sis is dying to join in and play.  She constantly says "I play soccer with sissy"... Last practice she joined in for a few minutes and then even scored a goal.  I let her be in there but then I took her out b/c she's not technically in the team.  She cried so much...  Hopefully she has fun when we actually put her in soccer next year!

Here's my cutie kicking the ball around.  Flip flops and all lol

I love this picture!  All the kids were sitting as coach was explaining something, baby sis joined in and was so happy to be part of the "team"..

After soccer we always get Icee treats :)

I remain thankful that we've been able to do soccer this year. I think it's been a great experience for big sis, we've made new friends and she's gotten to be more active and spend time outdoors.  I'm hoping she'll enjoy it enough to want to do it again.

Easter Sunday

Our Easter Sunday was pretty boring, but perfect for us!  We went to church, then had lunch just the 4 of us, then just relaxed all day.  We did an egg hunt in our yard like we do every year for the girls.  They had a blast.

My beautiful princess!

My other beautiful princess!

They picked out their own dresses this year.  Although I think they're pretty, they are not at all what I wanted.  But they still look super cute! :)
Baby sister would NOT cooperate for a picture after church.  Lesson learned, take all our pictures BEFORE the service. lol

Mama and firstborn! :)

Us :)

This is the result of a super tired and hungry 2 year old.  Family pictures were not a good experience. But it was pretty funny to upload these and realize that daddy joined in on the crying. lol

Daddy finally got baby sister to calm down and this is the best we could do.  So thankful for my sweet family and looking forward to our arms being even more full  in a few weeks :)

32 weeks...

Here we are, 32 weeks as of yesterday.  Seems CRAZY!!!  The other day hubby and I were making Father's day travel plans, and then it took a minute for us both to remember that we had a valid reason that we can't travel then.  lol  Baby will be a newborn!  We "forget" he's coming soon.  It still doesn't feel real.

This weekend I went to a friend's baby shower, she's due the same week as me with her first son.  It made me so excited for my shower next weekend!  Also another friend delivered her son a month early this weekend.  We got to go see them, thankfully he's doing super, we got to peek in on him in the nicu.  They're in the same hospital we'll be in, and it was exciting to think we'll be there soon!

Not much has changed for me... Pregnancy is the same and I'm thankful he's growing big and strong. He is getting more and more violent in his movements and kicks... It hurts sometimes, but I love feeling him in there!
The girls are counting down and so excited to meet him.  It will be interesting.  Hubby and I are kinda nervous.  I have no idea what life will be like with 3!!!  I'm kinda freaking out.  But I know the Lord's got it.  I'll be praying a LOT. lol

Hard to believe that in less than 8 weeks I'll be meeting this sweet little surprise!  This week we'll begin work in his nursery.  Yeah, we waited a while to get started. lol  But we have help, and have it all planned out, so it'll be done quickly.  My mother in law and sister are throwing me a shower on Saturday, I can't wait!  So excited to plan for this little guy and get stuff ready for him.  We are so blessed!

31

This past weekend marked our single digit countdown to baby!  In 9 weeks (or less) we'll meet our son.  That is both exciting and extremely daunting.  I'm seriously freaking out!  I keep saying it feels surreal b/c it really does.  He was such a big surprise that it still doesn't feel real.  I'm scared I won't be able to handle 3 kids.  I'm scared we won't be ready in time.  I feel overwhelmed all the time!  But I have to remind myself that God's in control.  I know I'll feel much better once he's born.

At 31 weeks things are pretty much the same for me.  My ankles keep swelling, mainly b/c I over do it lol  I'm in constant pain, mainly when I sleep... I'm ready to get back to normal physically.  Though I will miss the sweet kicks and feeling him move around.  He is super active and constantly makes my belly jump.

In the next week or so we'll start his room (yes we put it off till now mainly b/c we had to finish the girls room first).  Daddy is super excited to get to do his boy's room.  The theme, chosen by daddy, is Jaws. I picked out a few things, mainly the fabric to make his bedding.  Other than that, and a couple of wall hanging, daddy's in charge.  Can't wait to see it all done!

Busy bees

The past few days have been busy.  We have made the girls new window treatment, though we still need to replace the curtains.  The girls new beds have arrived and they are gorgeous!  I've finally been able to make their beds with their new quilts.  The girls call it their "flower beds".  they are so excited.  This weekend we'll be painting furniture and organizing their closet.  So we're getting close to being done.  There's still some decorative items we need to get and artwork daddy has to make.  But those should be quick-ish ;)  I'm really hoping to get all of that done by sometime next week, then we'll get started in brother's room.

On top of the other projects I've been doing for the girls room, I also tried something new this week.  I was given a ton of maternity clothes, a LOT of pants.  I don't need anymore pants but I was in desperate need of shorts.  I hated having to spend money on maternity shorts for only 8-10 weeks of pregnancy.  SO I cut 2 maternity pants and hemmed them.  They are so cute and I'm so happy to have shorts b/c it was getting hot wearing jeans all the time. lol  I was pretty proud to have done something like that.  I've never made myself anything and it was just exciting to have saved some money.

I will post some pictures once the girls room is done.. :)  Here's a sneak peak of the valance my mother in law and I made.  So excited about it!!!

I fell in love with the idea of ruffles and am so happy that we were able to make it.  The colors are so happy and really pop with their quilts.  We might replace the rod and we're still trying to decide what to do w/ the curtains... :)

whoa 30!

Today I m 30 weeks and 2 days pregnant.  Seems surreal that in a few days I'll begin the single digit countdown.  For the most part it seems surreal that we are so close.  It's crazy!  I'm honestly not looking forward to the end of this pregnancy.  It's bittersweet because this is our last.  But I'm also terrified of the newborn stage again.  Terrified of being a mom of 3.  What if I can't do it!?  I know it'll be exhasuting and I don't do well with no sleep.  I'm also terrified of having a boy.  lol
I know God will supply all my needs.  I just get overwhelmed with the thought of having 3 kids to care for.

At 30 weeks I am dealing with swollen ankles and feet.  I see my doctor tomorrow so we'll see what he says.  I had some swelling w/ my first for a few days only.  It was just because I was on my feet too much (I was a teacher).  This time I've been busy these past few days, so I imagine that's why.  I hope that's all it is.

Baby boy is super active, moving nonstop.  At nights when I go to sleep he moves so much it's like he's doing flips. lol
I've been fighting a cold, so that on top of pelvic pain has made sleep super hard.  But it's all good, maybe this is all preparing me for sleepless nights...

Sewing fun

When we found out we were expecting a boy, the plans began as to what to do with his room.  Hubby wanted a "Jaws" room.  We decided to do a more "baby" and "cute" shark room.  Which then led to, what will the bedding be?  I didn't want a generic blue.  I really don't care for the color blue.  I searched and searched and then my mother in law and I finally decided to make the bedding.  So I chose aqua/royal blue combo for the colors.  There will be red accents in the room.  I HAD to have some chevron in there.  The bumper pads will be chevron b/c they remind me of waves :)

When we moved to this house in August, I started planning our girls new room.  I knew I wanted to get them captain's beds b/c of the extra storage underneath.  I also knew that after 5 years of a pink/white toile room, it was time for a change.  Baby sis is in the toddler bed (converted crib) which we need for baby brother.  So we finally ordered their beds, which arrive this week!  I searched high and low and finally found a beautiful, happy and bright quilt for their new beds.  Along with that I will be making them a cute valance, getting new curtains, and doing some other odds and ends in there.  Here is the color scheme for their new room.  This will be the valance.

I spent about 8 hours with my mother in law yesterday cutting all the fabric for the valance and for the baby's new bedding.  It was fun to spend the day together and exciting to see everything finally beginning.  I've been planning the girls new room for so long, I'm excited to see my ideas "come to life".  I'm also excited to see baby boy's room getting done, though we are still thinking through some decor idea.  Shark room is rare, so we're having to come up w/ a lot of it on our own.  :)

Hopefully in the next 2 weeks the girls room will be completed and I can share with you guys the make over!

10 weeks = overwhelmed

Tomorrow I will be the big 3-0.  Yep, 30 weeks along.  Which means I have 10 weeks left (give or take) to get everything ready.  Ask me what's ready?  Go ahead, I dare you..  The answer is NOTHING! sigh... To be fair, we did buy fabric yesterday and this weekend we'll begin to make his bedding.  My lovely mother in law is in charge of that.  :)
The girls beds arrive on Wednesday, so their room will get done.  Well, there are some projects that need to be done first, but I'm hoping their room will be done in the next week or 2.  The one hold up is we can't find a dresser for them.

I don't know.  I'm not overly stressed about their rooms not being done b/c I know we'll get it done.  I have a lot of help in that area.  I'm feeling stressed knowing that in 10 weeks, our lives will change.  I'll be exhausted, I'll ahve sleepless nights, and my life will no longer only be surrounded by princesses and pink.  I'm terrified of having a boy.  I'm terrified of having 3 kids.  I barely feel fit to be a mother of 2.  Now 3!  I'm scared. lol I'm also having bittersweet moments where I realize my baby girl will no longer be the "baby" of the family :(  She's such a mama's girl and so cuddly and now she's having to grow up so fast.  I'm not ready for that.  I wasn't ready for that when we found out we were pregnant.  Alas, he's coming and I know everything will be fine.  As I sit here typing, I watch my belly move in every direction and get filled with excitement to meet my only son.

Though I still feel tired, stressed and overwhelmed... That's normal right!?
